ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS
Gympie Road Traffic Precinct Investigations (Stafford Road to Roghan Road)
DKS undertook this planning study to investigate network opportunities to assist the operation of the Gympie Arterial while also aiding in the functioning of Stafford Road. Both these corridors currently experience heavy traffic congestion in both the AM and PM peak periods as well as being heavily utilised during the dry-time off-peak periods. Scope of works included a high-level feasibility investigation in to the corridors to develop a solution that addresses the current excessive traffic demands. The solution considered the most appropriate cross section forms that allows for staged delivery of works, horizontal layout including intersection and interchange layouts and develops the most appropriate vertical profile with due consideration to the existing road network. Provision for cyclists in accordance with the Draft SEQ Principle Cycle were also incorporated into the investigation. The outcomes of the investigation were incorporated into a Feasibility Planning Report and included all options considered for the Gympie Arterial, Stafford Road to Roghan Road Traffic Precinct. |
