DKS were the pavement designers on this project and their role included producing design and associated drawings to remove the toll area and produce free flow for motorists. The design process included working with the contractor and TMR pavements branch and also involved various options such as foam bitumen and new heavy-duty asphalt pavements. Overlay designs were also incorporated into the scheme. The pavement design process was a resounding success on the project as a result of good communication between the contractor (TMR) and design team. |
